Z

WHISKY LOVER & ENTHUSIAST

Hey, my name is Z, a fellow whisky lover and enthusiast and I am from Hungary. Been into whisky for around 3-4 years and tasted over 700 whiskies including Scotches, Irish whiskies, Bourbons and whiskies from all around the world. On this page you will be able to read my reviews and thoughts on the things I try. Hope you will enjoy it.

My favourite distilleries include: ✅Ardnamurchan, Arran, Bunnahabhain, Bushmills, Bowmore, Kingsbarns, Macallan, Highland Park, Tullibardine, Kavalan✅

I started exploring single malts from different countries and I am quite hyped and hopeful about most of them. Best I've had so far came from obviously Taiwan but I really like single malts from Romania, France and Germany too. I also like Bourbon / Tenessee whiskies, mostly ones with a higher rye proportion and of course I do like a good wheated bourbon too.

My favourite cask maturation/finish is definitely Port followed by various wine casks and bourbon. As far as finishes go I love a good sherry finish, lately I find that sherry matured whiskies lose their DNA and they are agressive acidic sherry bombs which I really hate. I also don't like most sherry seasoned cask whiskies, I think only Edrington gets that right for now (Macallan, Highland Park, Glenrothes etc.)

RATINGS:

⏺95-100: Dram of a lifetime. (Macallan & Glengoyne 30 yr) ▶️ 90-95: A very well made whisky. ▶️ 80-90: It's worth the money and it's worth to try. (It doesn't mean I'd buy a bottle tho.) ▶️ 70-80: 3.6, not great not terrible. ▶️ 60-70: I wouldn't pay for it. ▶️ 0-60: Avoid it at all costs!⏺
