Element Lore Single Malt R/1.0 review
Hello Everyone! Today I am back with a very interesting whiskey. It's the Element Lore Single Malt R/1.0. An Irish Single Malt whiskey. It is very unique and interesting for various reasons. It is created by whisk(e)y lovers to whisk(e)y lovers.
Element, the company behind this bottle
Element is the first whisk(e)y company on the world that uses the so called "Open Innovation" techonolgy. Now what is "Open Innovation"? It is the practice of businesses and organizations sourcing ideas from external sources as well as internal ones. This means sharing knowledge and information about problems and looking to people outside the business for solutions and suggestions. In this case it means that they send out samples for people that are in the "Element Solve panel" to taste, test and give their opinions about the whiskey. Then they take these opinions, ideas and then they create a whiskey with these in mind. "The "Element Solve panel" is composed of like minded industry experts, innovative mixologists, and whiskey enthusiasts who bring their knowledge and spirit of adventure to each release."
Element works together with different Irish Whiskey Distilleries from where they source their whiskies from. From what I was able to find / heard they source they Single Malt portion from the Great Northern Distillery and their Grain content from the Middleton Distillery. This is not a 100% correct info, I just heard it in different review videos, read it on the internet. It is not verified nor stated anywhere by the company.
Their inspiration comes from many places. "Exceptional ideas are around every corner and their community is the beating heart of our co-development process – you speak, we listen." This is the part I love the most. They actually build this whiskey around the community and around the opinion of people! I love these types of companies because eventually they will be successful.
Currently they have two releases that are on the shelves already and one that is still under development.

Nose: Obviously you can smell that this is an Irish Whiskey. How? Green apples and fresh orchard fruits. Citrus fruits and maltiness. There are hints of raspberry and strawberry. Lovely toasted oak and spices. White grapes and chocolate. A very sweet and inviting nose.
Taste: It's very smooth, and drinkable. The taste is "darker" than the nose. The fresh orchard fruits are not so apparent here. You get more of dark fruit note such as fig jam. Strawberry jam. Coffe Latte with lots of cream on top. The maltiness is really powerful here too. I'm getting vanilla, caramelized apricots and toasted oak yet again. Lovely, complex taste.
Finish: Medium, but it's almost long. Smooth and tasty. Christmas spices, malted barley, vanilla, toffee, oak and fruits. It's great.
Overall this release is awesome. I think it's well worth it's asking price. I hope Element will release many more of these great bottlings. 87 / 100
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed it. To many more. Sláinte.
